Operation, Set-Up and Maintenance Training Programs
Course Overview:
Minster press programs consist of classroom training in which The Minster Machine Company's training instructor presents course material on the operation, set-up and preventive maintenance of a Minster press.
Press training programs are available for the various Minster press series, (i.e. P2, P2H, E2H, TR2, PM3, etc) and specific press series are scheduled throughout the year based on demand. Training programs and schedule can be custom developed to fit customer specific needs.
Students will receive current manuals and handouts relating to topics covered in class. All students are urged to take notes, participate in classroom discussions and bring up related issues. This is a one-day program. Registration is from 8 - 8:30 a.m. EST and the training program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with lunch provided. Courses are kept small in class size. Typically there are a maximum of 12 students to provide an interactive learning atmosphere.
Students are responsible for their own transportation, expenses and hotel. A certificate of completion will be mailed to the student for attending the course. Written student evaluations for the program are available.
Course Topics:
• Press safety (overview of Minster press safety manual & lockout/tag out)
• Press familiarization, part identification and terminology.
• Press drive system and tonnage development.
• Press set-up (clutch{air & hyd.}, slide, shutheight, motor speeds, counterbalance & die installation).
• Understanding of the pneumatic, lubrication & hydraulic systems.
• Preventative maintenance schedule.
