Scheduled Training

Based on popular requests, Nidec Minster has developed a series of operations, controls and maintenance programs that are now offered at Minster on a prescheduled basis. Call Minster or visit www.minster.com for course descriptions and schedules.

Custom Training

Minster will develop, schedule and conduct classroom and hands-on training based upon your specific needs. These courses will include customized, comprehensive training materials and can be conducted at either Minster's CEC or your facility. (Training conducted at your facility may better utilize your employees' time.)

In addition to providing typical, one-time style training courses, Minster can also develop a complete training curriculum to meet your employees' on-going training needs. Contact Nidec Minster to discuss your specific requirements.

Training attendees receive comprehensive materials that can be utilized long after the initial training.

Minster Press and Material Handling
Equipment Operation and Set-Up Training Program

Course Overview:

The Minster Press program consists of classroom training in which Nidec Minster Corporation's training instructor presents course material on the operation and set-up of a Minster press and feedline.

Students will receive a copy of the current manuals. Additional handouts, schematics and layouts are provided relating to specific topics covered in class. All students are urged to take notes, participate in classroom discussions and bring up related issues.

This is a two-day program, starting with registration from 8:00-8:30 am EST. Program runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with lunch provided. Courses are kept small in class size, typically a maximum of twelve students, to provide an interactive learning atmosphere. Students are responsible for their own transportation, expenses and hotel. A certificate of completion will be mailed to the student for attending the course. Written student evaluations for the program are available.

  • Press and feedline familiarization, part identification and terminology
  • Press and feedline safety (overview of Minster press safety manual & lockout/tag out)
  • Press and feedline fundamentals
  • Press set-up -- clutch, slide, shutheight, motor speeds, counter-balance and die installation
  • Understanding feed terms, (feed angle, roll lift, feed rate, feed length & etc)
  • Operation of straightener and understanding of: straightener facts, loop control, straightener rolls and material issues.
  • Control functions and features (counters, limit switch, load monitor, tool storage, die protection, etc.
  • Troubleshooting line problems
  • Hands on as available and applicable
